About Salt & Sill

On the old herring island Klädesholmen outside Tjörn lies Salt & Sill, surrounded by Bohuslän's salty cliffs and skerries. We are Sweden's first floating hotel and one of the west coast's most appreciated archipelago destinations, with a hotel, conference facilities, and restaurant – right by the dock.

Our business has been operated in its current form since the early 2000s and is characterized by a strong passion for food, people, and hospitality. The proximity to the sea and local ingredients permeates both our menus and guest experiences. We are a seasonal business with a high pace during parts of the year, where collaboration, responsibility, and engagement are crucial for the whole.

About the position

We are now looking for a head waiter who wants to be part of our restaurant team starting in June. The position is primarily seasonal and extends over the summer, with the possibility of extension even after the autumn season. Working hours are scheduled for weekdays and weekends, focusing on evenings. The role is central to the daily operations and involves close collaboration with the restaurant manager, kitchen, and service staff.

This is how we usually describe the position

As a head waiter with us, you play an important role in creating structure, security, and flow in the dining room. You are present in service, lead the work on-site, and contribute to a warm and professional atmosphere for both guests and colleagues. The role combines operational leadership with a clear focus on hospitality, quality, and overall experience.

Your responsibilities in the role

You are responsible for planning and leading the daily work in the dining room and ensuring a high and consistent level of service. The role includes coordinating work between the kitchen and service staff, managing table bookings and staffing, and introducing and supporting new employees. Together with the restaurant manager, you contribute to the development of routines, service, and guest experience. You are a clear role model in hospitality, communication, and joy at work, and you are closely involved in the daily operations.

Who we believe you are

We believe you have at least three years of experience in the role of head waiter or in a similar leading service role. You are confident in your leadership and communication and thrive with responsibility in a business where the pace is sometimes high. You have a genuine interest in food, drink, and hospitality and see the details that together create the whole. You work in a structured and solution-oriented manner, have good computer skills, and experience with table booking systems. You speak Swedish and English fluently and have good knowledge of wine and beverages.

With us, you will

With us, you will work in a unique archipelago environment where the sea, food, and guests are at the center. You will be part of an engaged and professional team with strong joy at work and a shared responsibility for the whole. The role offers the opportunity to influence and develop in daily work. Staff accommodation is available if needed, and salary is according to agreement.

Practical information

The position starts in June and is seasonal. Working hours are scheduled for weekdays and weekends, mainly in the evenings. The workplace is located on Klädesholmen, Tjörn.

Application Recruitment is ongoing, so we would like you to submit your application as soon as possible. We look forward to hearing from you and together creating memorable guest experiences at Salt & Sill.
